Yasmin Rowe recital

Yasmin Rowe is an award-winning concert pianist, solo recitalist and chamber musician. She graduated from the RNCM with a BMus First Class Honours, MMus with Distinction and a postgraduate IAD in solo performance. She performs throughout the UK, Australia and China.

Her many concerto performances include Mozart’s Piano Concerto K271 with the Manchester Camerata in the UK and Beethoven’s ‘Emperor’ with Pro-Musica in Australia.

Yasmin’s debut CD, on the Willowhayne label, was the BBC Music Magazine editor’s choice in September 2016. Jean-Efflam Bavouzet enthused ‘Played with conviction, love and authority . . . enjoy the pure beauty of these masterpieces under her inspired fingers.

Yasmin Rowe is a British concert pianist, solo recitalist and chamber musician. She graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music with a BMus First Class Honours, MMus with Distinction and a postgraduate International Artist’s Diploma in solo performance.

Shortly after graduation, Yasmin was invited to perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto K271 with the Manchester Camerata. She has performed concertos in cathedrals and other venues throughout the UK and concertos by Beethoven, Schumann and Mozart with Pro-Musica in Australia.

Yasmin won both the EPTA UK and Moray International Piano competitions in 2008 and the Antena 2 competition in Portugal in 2015. Antena 2 is one of Portugal’s three national radio stations. She has appeared at numerous concert halls including the Wigmore Hall in London, the Ian Roach Hall in Melbourne and the Forbidden City Recital Hall in Beijing. She has given piano masterclasses in Shanghai and is a part-time member of staff at Melbourne University.

Her live radio performances include her BBC Radio 3 debut in 2014 in a performance of Vaughan William’s song cycle On Wenlock Edge with tenor Nick Pritchard and a 50-minute broadcast for Antena 2 when she made a return visit to Portugal in 2016.

Yasmin’s debut CD, released on the Willowhayne label in 2016, was the Editor’s Choice in the September 2016 edition of BBC Music Magazine. Jean-Efflam Bavouzet enthused ‘Played with conviction, love and authority… enjoy the pure beauty of these masterpieces under her inspired fingers.’

As well as her eclectic solo work, Yasmin loves playing with other musicians and regularly performs in the duo Y-Squared with cellist Yelian He, the trio ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’ with the renowned violinist Wilma Smith and the ensemble ‘Collide’ with saxophonist Joseph Lallo. Y-Squared released a well-received CD, also on the Willowhayne label, in 2017.
