Yasmin Rowe is a British concert pianist based in Melbourne, Australia. Her performances are delivered with a focus and passion that have led to engagements in the Wigmore and Bridgewater Halls in the UK, the Verbrugghen Hall and Melbourne Recital Centre in Australia, and the Shanghai and Forbidden City Halls in China.
Of her debut CD released by Willowhayne in 2016, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet wrote ‘Played with conviction, love and authenticity . . . enjoy the pure beauty of these masterpieces under her inspired fingers’ and it was the BBC Music Magazine Editor’s Choice in September of the same year.
Yasmin was born in Winchester in the UK in 1989. She studied piano at Chetham’s School of Music and the Royal Northern College of Music. She graduated with a first-class honours degree, a Masters with distinction and a postgraduate International Artist Diploma in Solo Performance.
Yasmin performs a broad repertoire ranging from the great classical canon to the exciting, new landscapes of living composers. In 2008 she teamed up with the cellist Yelian He to form ‘Y-Squared’ which won the 2009 Royal Over-Seas League String Competition in London and the 2014 Australian Cello Awards Competition in Sydney. Their debut CD was released in 2017. Other collaborations include ‘Rock Paper Scissors’ created in 2017 and ‘Collide’ created in 2018.
Yasmin has performed on live radio in the UK, Portugal, Australia and China. She loves travelling and Glenn Gould’s perspective on art as a lifelong construction of a state of wonder.
